M. Hall of Saluda, ..Continued or Back Page .... College President Elected Kiwanis Division Head Dr. J. E. Coltrgne, president of Brevard College was elected Lieut. Governor of Division One of the Carolinas Kiwanis District at a meeting of delegates of the divis ion held Tuesday night at the Ruth erfordton Country club. The divis ion includes • clubs in Asheville, Brevard, Hendersonville, Morgan ton, Tryon, Marion, Rutherford ton, Forest City, Shelby, Kings Mountain. The term will start on January 1. Delegates from the Tryon club were Vice-President R. L. Dick; Past-President J. A. Wil son and Secretary Seth M. Vining. TRYON TO BE INVADED BY 200 SOLDIERS Local citizens urged to meet "invasion” armed with Tryon’s famous hospitality. All organiza tions including Kiwanis, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, American Legion, Church Brotherhoods and' societies and all patriotic citizens who want to honor visiting mem bers of the armed forces are asked to be at Harmon’ Field Sunday nirht to help entertain 200 visiting soldiers who are on a two-day trip to Mount Mitchell. Money is need ed to buy food for a picnic supper to serve them. Donations may be sent to Mrs. C. B. Thomas of the TISO, or to Chas. J. Lynch, chair man of Harmon Field. Volunteers to help with the entertainment may phene Mb's. Thomas, 190-J or Mr. Lynch. ROTARY FRIDAY Mortimer E. Flack will be in charge of the Tryon Rotary club program Friday at 1 p. m.
